Red Star Studio has won the ‘Tricks for Kids’ Award for Best Children’s Animated Film at the 2008 Stuttgart International Animation Festival with their film The Curse of Skull Rock.
The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film is the second largest film festival for animation in the world, bringing more than 40,000 visitors and 1,000 professionals to the most modern cinemas in the world, in the German city of Stuttgart.
The Curse of Skull Rock stars Cath Whitehead and Brian Black and is a swashbuckling adventure that pits plucky cabin girl Jill Hopkins against the tyrannical Captain Scabb in pursuit of the legendary lost treasure of Skull Rock.
The film was produced entirely with feature-film quality CGI animation, and was originally developed to play in theme parks and visitor attractions in stereoscopic 3D. It is available commercially for licensing into 3D and “4D” theatres worldwide.
